In beautiful surroundings, no longer than 5 kilometres from the city centre of Umeå, you find our school Forslundagymnasiet; an Upper Secondary School running The Natural Resource Use Programme on a small scale basis, so as to enable us to provide the best education possible for our students. Our current number of enrolled students is 180 students in Upper Secondary School and 60 adult students in different fields of commissioned education.

The small scale of our school provides a calm and peaceful atmosphere making it possible for us to work as a team; close to each other and always within reach for our students — all this in order to create a platform for lifelong learning and solid growing for both students and employees.

Our school houses its own green houses where parts of the practical moments are held. Approximately 17 tons of tomatoes are grown in them and on free land 15 tonnes of Swedish turnip, 5 tonnes of ecologically grown potatoes and carrots also.
More than 20 000 potted plants are also produced here. Moreover, our students get the opportunity to learn how to grow the popular hyacints, tulips and roses.

We are able to offer commissioned education in many fields, such as forestry, technique, cattle management, crop farming, business economy and farm machinery trying to design our projects to individual demands or needs.
We aim at establishing a Centre of Competence in the region of Västerbotten in order to support regional development in the agricultural fields by supporting our entrepreneurs with qualified education and consulting.
Our school has a leading part in this work as being a hub and uniting centre by connecting representatives from LRF — The Central Board of Agriculture, from URF — Umeå Riding Society Board as well as from the management of Lycksele Zoo.

Our Christmas Market in the middle of December is also a widely appreciated event adding to the special atmosphere just before Christmas; everyone, student as well as school staff, takes active part in creating this special day awating Santa.
