The International Baccalaureate Global Education programme consists of one preparatory year, and then two years of study within the Diploma programme. During the preparatory year, you study courses from the Swedish social sciences programmes but with an IB emphasis, using the IB Learner Profile. In the second and third years you study six subjects: three at a specialised Higher Level, and three at Standrad Level. Everyone studies Swedish, English, Business and Management, Environmental Systems and Societies, Mathematics, and chooses either Design Technology or Peace and Conflict Studies.
Everyone studies Theory of Knowledge, writes an Extended Essay, and undertakes a programme of Creativity, Action and Service (CAS). CAS will involve you in a programme of creativity, physical activity and service towards others in your community, a programme that you plan yourself, together with a supervisor. You document all your CAS via your own blog.
The IB Diploma consists of oral, written and practical/laboratory-based work, in addition to the written exams whih you do in May of your third year. The exams and syllabuses are the same for all IB World Schools. The IB Diploma not only gets you into university in Sweden but into universities all over the world.
