Points to be borne in mind in connection with bonfires
Prior to lighting a bonfire, you should take into account the risk of the fire spreading, possible prohibition of such fires and your responsibility to notify bonfires. If lighting fires is banned, this also applies to the use of fireplaces and hearths which are not approved by the Fire Service. You should never have a bonfire if the ground is dry or there is a strong wind. Obviously, you must also prepare to take whatever steps are necessary to extinguish the fire if there are unforeseen developments.

In areas covered by town planning under local environmental regulations, garden or other waste cannot be disposed of by burning it. In case of doubt, call the Community Planning Office´s Environmental Unit, emergency telephone.
